Subsidiary Label- subsidiary labels have their staff and usually sign their own artists and make most of their own financial decisions. However, they are answerable to the "main" company, which sets their overall budget and makes decisions like reducing staff at the subsidiary.
Independent Label - (indie labels) record labels that are independent comppanies that do not have a cooporate backer
Niche Audience - select group of people that have a very unique interest.
Mainstream audience - select group of people that have a very similar interest connected to thhe time period involved.
Fans- Fans usually have a strong enough interest that some changes in their lifestyles are made to accommodate devotion to the focal object. As well, fans have a desire for external involvement – they are motivated to demonstrate their involvement with the area of interest through certain behaviors
Interactivity - Computer science relating to a program that responds to user activity. Two-way transfers of information beween a user and the central point of a communication system. Such as a computer or television
Active Audiences - A theory is a theory that people receive and interpret media messages in different ways, usually according to factors such as age, ethnicity, social class, etc. The audience is neither passive nor homogenous.
Audiophiles - An audiophile is a person who has a great interest in high-fidelity sound reproduction[1]. Some audiophiles are more interested in collecting and listening to music, while others are more interested in collecting and listening to audio components
